Ducted UVC Emitter

BC Air’s Ducted UVC Emitter uses Ultraviolet-C (UVC) light to treat bacteria & viruses (e.g. in air-conditioning systems), as well as oxidise oil & grease and odour in ventilation systems (e.g. kitchen exhaust systems). It fits into new and retrofit ventilation systems, and offers for quick and easy installation.

UVC irradiation has germicidal capabilities against bacteria, viruses, and other airborne pathogens. Its short wavelength allows it to destroy these contaminants in HVAC systems.

At a even shorter wavelength (i.e. 185nm), the ozone produced can also be used in kitchen exhaust systems to complement existing air cleaning equipment (i.e. Electrostatic Air Cleaner) to treat oil and grease particles and mitigate cooking odour. For ducted applications in exhaust systems, it serves the same purpose as PhotoPlasma (a.k.a. Far UVC) in breaking down contaminants and pollutants in the airflow.

Benefits of UVC Lamps in Kitchen Exhaust Systems:

– Reduces grease build-up in the ventilation ductworks, thus reducing fire risks for the Kitchen Exhaust System

– Reduces the system’s required maintenance and cleaning frequency

– Produced Ozone helps to eliminate the odour that comes with built-up grease, which can occur quickly in busy commercial kitchens.
